Several years ago, a young boy washed up on a beach in Florida; a young Cuban boy escaping a dictators Island. The media covered this story for months; it dominated our every waking moment. Now, picture this: 34,000 children washing up on the beaches of the East Coast of the United States………..EVERY DAY. We may not see this happening on our shores, but the reality is that this many children DO die each day from starvation. When asked “who are our bothers and sisters”, Jesus looked around at the crowd and answered: “These are your family”. These Kids of the world ARE OUR responsibility, just as surely as your own blood brothers and sisters, sons and daughters.
